Although management believes our positions are reasonable, they are subject to challenge by the Internal Revenue Service in the United States and by tax authorities in other jurisdictions in which we conduct business operations, which could have an adverse impact on our tax liabilities. Refer to Note 20 to the “Consolidated Financial Statements” for information on the U.S. federal income tax audit of transfer pricing arrangements between our U.S. and foreign subsidiaries. We are being challenged in a number of countries regarding our application of value-added taxes (VAT) to certain transactions.
